We self-deliver all groundworks and have invested significantly in our modern plant fleet, which features Engcon tilt-rotators and Leica GPS machine control across all excavators. This ensures accuracy, efficiency and consistently high standards.


The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Groundworks Supervisor to lead, support and grow our in-house groundworks team. This hybrid role blends hands-on work with the organisation, planning and management of a growing team across several live housing projects.


Typical Sites & Scope of Works

Our developments typically range from 30–150 units and include full delivery of all groundworks activities, such as:

  • Site remediation

  • Foundations

  • Deep drainage

  • Plot drainage

  • Roads and sewers

  • Finishing plot works


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the groundworks team across multiple sites

  • Oversee day-to-day on-site operations, ensuring productivity, safety and quality

  • Forward-plan labour, plant and materials to meet programme requirements

  • Read and interpret detailed engineering and technical drawings

  • Carry out hands-on groundworks tasks as required, leading by example

  • Use a computer confidently for site reporting, communication and requisitions

  • Work with and oversee operatives using advanced plant technology (Engcon + Leica GPS)

  • Support continuous improvement and uphold YCH’s high delivery standards


What We're Looking For

  • Strong groundworks background (residential preferred)

  • Proven supervisory experience

  • Ability to read detailed engineering drawings (essential)

  • Competent computer literacy (essential)

  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • Full UK driving licence
